My brother, Jeff, is currently training with the 45th Fires Brigade at Fort Hood. He’s been sending a few snapshots of himself that he’s taken with his phone. Just wanted to share a few of them with you…
Our soldiers continue to train and work hard. They give of themselves daily for the greater good. And let’s not forget the families of the soldiers who are serving our great country, as well. The sacrifice these familes make cannot be measured or repaid. Thank you so much, Jeff, Tarina, Christian, Austin and Taylor for serving our country as a family unit. I’m so very proud of you all and especially you, Little Brother.
My husband and I took our son, Luke, to the Aquarium of the Americas in NOLA a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time and returned safely home just before Gustav made his appearance. We are so thankful that Gustav didn’t do as much damage as they predicted he would. After being in NOLA for just a few days, it was clear that the city has yet to completely recover from Hurricane Katrina. Homes are still in ruins, businesses are closed, but the residents of NOLA remain as resillient as ever. The spirit of the city is in tact. That’s something even Gustav couldn’t threaten. Please remember to pray for our friends in the Big Easy… it’s not so easy for them anymore.
Here a few snapshots of our trip to the aquarium…
Kenzie is my niece and she lives in Oklahoma. This was her blonde debut! I’d have more pics, but she decided that she wasn’t meant to be a blonde and reverted to brunette a day later. I call this “putting-on-a-happy-face-even-though-I-hate-my-hair-day photo session with Kenzie.” I thought she was just dazzling!
I’ve finally finished (well…for the moment) my new website!
Check it out at www.shutterbug-photo.com!
Email me through the contact page and get a free 8by10 with your scheduled session!
Hope to see you there!
Looking over my blog got me a little worried that anyone doesn’t know me, might think that I only have one son. The truth is I have three wonderful boys. Luke (who you’ve met) is the youngest by almost 14 years. He’s four. Then there’s Zach. Zach is a Freshman at ULM and is a fine young man. He is extremely intelligent and is at ULM via a TOPS scholarship. He’s not sure about his major, but there’s plenty of time. He has the biggest dimples and is so handsome! Zach’s loves to golf, hunt, fish, lift weights and work on his truck (NOT!) He might possibly hold the record for the most test messages in one day, too. My oldest son is RJ. RJ is a good-looking young man, too. RJ loves to read and play his guitar and keyboard. He’s gifted in writing and writes song lyrics. He’s a very talented photographer and loves digital art. RJ is an artist and he doesn’t give himself near enough credit for the work that he does. He’s very laid back and is very loving. They are just the best and I’m very proud of them both! I couldn’t ask for more. They are living away from home now, but they are together and that’s some comfort. They grew up way too fast. It seems like yesterday that they were small like Luke. Please cherish every moment you have with your children…. Time is a theif and before you know it our little ones won’t be so little anymore. Before I start squalling, here are a few pictures of my handsome guys…
